SANAD Announces Leisure Park Plans for ACTVENTURE
Works on Site Inevitable with Tenders Close to Decision
Sunshine Coast – 18th April 2018 - Master Developer SANAD have today announced concept plans for an innovative leisure park to be built on their 25ha ACTVENTURE site at Steve Irwin Way. The news comes after the recent demolishing of a large mural shed branded with ACTVENTURE from the site, sparking excitement in the local community that construction will commence soon.
SANAD's Board and Masterplanners have been working on an initial concept for the leisure park set to cover 8ha of the site, and the design will draw upon inspiration from glamping destinations across the globe like Al Maha UAE, Aman-i-Khas India, Crystalbrook Lodge North QLD, Longitude 131 Uluru, and Amanwana Indonesia.
Recent hospitality and economic demand research by Sanad’s local and international consultants revealed strong demand for an innovative new leisure park facility on the Sunshine Coast. Luxury camping has become increasingly popular, and RV tourism is a $7b industry. Further, the new runway at Sunshine Coast Airport will trigger a requirement for 1000 new beds to accommodate the growing visitation. The planned area at ACTVENTURE will provide for a mix of cabins, powered sites, and glamping tents to cover all types of guest requirements as well as amenities including tennis court, gym, kids club, play area, and swimming pool plus aqua spray deck, kiddie boomerango, aqua sphere and mini slides.
Sanad Capital CEO Bradley P. Sutherland said “Luxury camping has become an appealing option for holidaymakers across the globe. The Sunshine Coast desperately requires more rooms to accommodate the rising tourism numbers, and with more and more families’ keen to have the glamping experience rather than staying in a hotel, we thought what better way to satisfy that demand than place a focus on it within our masterplan. It fits perfectly with our branding”.
Finalisation with Contractor’s for the bulk earthworks are almost at close, and a decision is expected in the coming weeks.
