Everybody Needs Good Neighbours

Updated: Feb 15, 2018

SANAD Capital supports the Wildlife Warriors charity Everyone needs good neighbours and this was demonstrated at the annual Steve Irwin Gala Dinner, when Sunshine Coast-based Sanad Capital donated $12,500 to its neighbour, Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors. SANAD Capital announced earlier this year that it will build a $400 million active lifestyle development just off Steve Irwin Way on the Sunshine Coast, heading south before the Glenview Par Three Golf Course. The donation will go towards helping Wildlife Warrior’s conservation efforts supporting some of the world’s most effective wildlife conservation programs.

Speaking from the Gala Ball, CEO of SANAD Capital, Bradley P Sutherland says supporting one’s neighbour is a way to work together for the greater good of the region. “If I could donate to anyone in the region, it would be these guys. The work Wildlife Warriors do is simply world class and making a difference, not just in the Sunshine Coast, but across the world – also helping to put the region on the world map.

“Our new active lifestyle hub, ACTVE, is approximately 10 kilometers down the road from Australia Zoo and we think, when complete, this hub will complement the zoo and vice versa. Everybody needs good neighbours and we have the best.”

Accepting the donation at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday evening was Australia Zoo’s Director and Steve Irwin’s best mate, Wes Mannion. “Wildlife Warriors exists as a way to include caring people and organisations in the protection of wildlife and natural environments,” he said.

“SANAD's incredibly generous contribution will help us to further our support of wildlife conservation projects all over the world and we’re all extremely thankful for their support ahead of what we expect to be another successful year conserving wildlife and wild places in 2017.”

The Steve Irwin Gala Ball was deemed a huge success raising much needed funds for conservation as part of the annual event honouring Steve Irwin’s life and legacy.
