Bloomhill Cancer Care benefit from local networking

Updated: Feb 15, 2018

The Bloomhill Cancer Care Center at the Sunshine Coast received a donation last week of $62,202 raised by the ongoing efforts of Loren Wimhurst, a local business owner.A chance meeting with Mr Sutherland, CEO of SANAD Capital, who is looking at purchasing a home for his family on the coast, led to a cheque being written to help reach a fundraising target of more than $60,000 for the charity.

Bradley P. Sutherland, CEO of SANAD Capital said, “Having met with Loren Wimhurst from Next Property Group, while I was searching for a family home, I was thrilled to hear about the amazing work she was doing and jumped at the chance to become involved in supporting Bloomhill.”

“Having seen family and close friends fight the disease, it was an important cause to support, ensuring the local community has access to services it needs right here on the coast,” Mr Sutherland said.

Loren Wimhurst, Next Property Group said, “The annual event is growing each year thanks to the support of local organisations. As someone who is a two-time cancer survivor, I understand the important role and amazing work undertaken by Bloomhill.”“It has been fantastic having Bradley come on board and support an event that is becoming bigger and better every year. A credit to the amazing network we have here on the Sunshine Coast,” said Ms Wimhurst.

This year’s auction included over $140,000 worth of auction items and raffle prizes donated by local business and was held at the Maroochy Surf Lifesaving Club. To date over $105,000 has been raised in support of Bloomhill Cancer Care.
